Tāmaki 05
Formed by Finn McNeill and Ryan Tomov, the trio brings together the energy of samba, the elegance of bossa nova, and bebop. Inspired by the great Rio 65 Trio and other Brazilian composers/groups, they combine their exploration of Samba music with each of their own voices as experienced musicians in the Auckland music scene. Performing regularly at Freida Margolis, the group moves effortlessly from intimate, lyrical tunes to vibrant, dancing grooves.
Teaching
Ryan Tomov is a jazz pianist and bassist offering lessons for students of all levels. With experience in performing and collaborating in the Auckland music scene, he brings a practical, musical approach to teaching. Ryan is passionate about helping learners build solid technique, develop their creativity, and find confidence in their own sound.
